Every Loudoun County parent has planned the backyard party that got rained out, or the trampoline-park party where the noise made conversation impossible. An indoor sports party sits between the two: real physical activity for the kids, a defined space for parents, and no weather risk in January or July.
PSA Sports Club in Sterling has a dedicated gathering and party area alongside two hard courts, two turf fields and three training cages.
How a sports party is structured
The reason staff-run activity matters: an unstructured hour in a gym with fifteen eight-year-olds is chaos, and the parent hosting is the one absorbing it. Dedicated staff keep children active in sports and activities while parents actually get to sit down.
- Active block on court or turf - small-sided games, relays and skill challenges run by staff so no parent has to referee.
- Food and cake in the gathering area - tables, seating and large-screen TVs.
- Second active block or free play, depending on the age group.
- Presents and pickup, with the room already set up for it.
What works at each age
- Ages 4–6: short rotations, lots of variety, more turf than court, and a hard stop before energy crashes.
- Ages 7–10: sport-specific games and team formats - futsal, basketball, dodgeball-style challenges.
- Ages 11+: a real game format with scoring, and time to hang out afterward.
Timing and season
The club is open daily 8:00 am to 10:00 pm, and extended hours are available on request. Weekend afternoon slots are the most requested and the first to go, particularly December through March when every outdoor option in Northern Virginia is off the table.
